How we make money.
Short version: when you click a link and sign up with one of the factoring companies we recommend, that company pays us. The rankings come first. The check comes after.
The model, in plain English.
Truck Factoring Up is an independent review site funded by affiliate partnerships with two of the companies on our rankings page: OTR Solutions and TAFS. When a reader clicks through to either of those companies from our site and becomes a customer, we receive a referral fee from that company. Your rate doesn't change. Your contract terms don't change. The only thing that changes is who introduced you.
How it can't influence the rankings.
Three things keep this clean:
- The methodology is published before the rankings. Weights, criteria, and scoring formulas are on the methodology page. We compute scores against those weights, not the other way around.
- We can't be paid for placement. Our partners cannot purchase a higher rank or favorable language. Our affiliate agreements with both OTR Solutions and TAFS are flat-rate referral commissions tied to outbound clicks and signups — there's no bonus structure for "marketing position" or "preferred placement."
- The companies we don't have affiliate deals with are still reviewed. Triumph Business Capital, RTS Financial, and TBS Factoring all appear in our rankings, scored against the same six criteria as our partners. They aren't paying us anything.
Why this is a more honest model than ad revenue.
Most review sites monetize through display ads or sponsored placements that they label "sponsored" in 9-point grey type. Affiliate commissions align our incentive with yours: we only get paid if the company we recommended is one you actually want to work with. If you sign up with our top pick and they're terrible to you, you cancel, the commission claws back, and we look like fools to the next 10,000 readers. The model only sustains if we get the picks right.
What we don't accept.
- Pay-for-placement (no company on this site has paid to be ranked higher)
- Sponsored content disguised as editorial
- Display advertising from unrelated industries
- Payments to suppress unfavorable reviews
- Rebates from rate increases passed to you
